New York street artist Aakash Nihalani transforms unremarkable parts of his city with bright colored tape. The concept seems simple enough until you realize how he transforms a common landscape into something very unexpected by taping off rectangles and squares. With these taped off sections, a whole new vantage point appears.
Nihalani’s optical tape illusions create imaginary places that he hopes will give people a chance to experience their stomping grounds a little differently than they do everyday. Take a look at just a few street installations from Aakash Nihalani in the following gallery and learn all about him at his website – here.
