With news rolling in of all the coveted “Black Friday” releases, its only right that we get something new from Queens kicks aficionado Ronnie Fieg. But Fieg’s holiday release differs from the rest, it’s not just a drop to capitalize on eager shoppers or leverage glorified spending days, his is personal. The Puma Disc is one of his all-time favorite sneaker silhouettes. And when he got a chance to meet with Puma’s product team 18 months ago, his dream shoe would ultimately become his dream collaboration.
Like all sneaker lovers and creatives alike, Ronnie had a beef with the design. He wanted to alter the asymmetrical toe box. Fortunately, Puma’s talented group of designers were all for the idea and gave Fieg free range to craft this masterpiece to his liking. The outcome? One of the years most unlikely comeback sneakers in a very familiar color scheme. The Ronnie Fieg x Puma Disc Blaze OG “Cove” boast an altered toe box area with added mudguard to the vamp and quarter panel. Cove Blue rest atop a white misdole and black accenting throughout the closure system accompanied by 3M detailing.
Priced at $140 USD, the Disc OG “Cove” hits Kith NYC stores and online on “Black Friday,” November 23rd, 2012 in limited numbers. Peep the looks below.
