In my opinion, other than supercars, everyday roadsters don’t get much better than BMW. The German-engineered “Ultimate Driving Machine” is stylish, innovative, and luxurious. What more can you ask for? Well, how about more models? After talks of a 4-series, BMW also broke news of a possible M8 – the successor to the original 1981 M1. The BMW M8 is said to be on track, and from the sound of things, if it does see the light of day, nothing else on the road will compare.
Although hope won’t put this vehicle into production, there are strong signs it’s headed in that direction. M Division president is moving full steam ahead even though BMW’s CEO Norbert Reithofer isn’t exactly sold on the vehicle. Its preliminary features include a rumored twin-turbo V10 engine with 625 horsepower coupled with the same carbon fiber and alumium platform as the BMW i8. Maybe BMW is further from production of this vehicle than we’d like to admit, but we can hope, right? In an event, take a look at the BMW M1 Hommage Concept and let your imagination run wild.
