The Sneaker of the Year Top 10 wasn’t easy to narrow down, but that challenge speaks to just how strong the year was. To keep things fun and avoid the usual ranking debates, this list is presented in no particular order. Each selection earned its spot through a mix of design, storytelling, cultural impact, and on-foot appeal, making them standouts in an already crowded field.
Among the highlights are timeless retros and fresh signatures alike: the Air Jordan 1 “Bred ’85 High,” Angel Reese’s AR-1, Air Jordan 5 “Metallic,” Joe Freshgoods’ “Bag Lady,” Westside Gunn’s “My Saucony’s Glowin,” Sia Collective’s “Genesis Mt,” Air Jordan 40 “Chicago,” Travis Scott x Fragment Jordan 1 Low, Air Jordan 4 “Cement,” and Deion Sanders’ “Diamond Turf” in the Falcons colorway. Each of these releases brought something unique to the table, whether it was heritage, innovation, or a strong personal narrative.
Truth be told, limiting the list to just ten pairs felt almost impossible. There were plenty of deserving releases left on the cutting room floor, and stretching this out to a Top 30 wouldn’t have been a reach at all. Still, these picks represent some of our personal favorites from a year that proved sneaker culture is as vibrant and competitive as ever.
