Cameron Diaz is having a terrible day—and Netflix is turning it into movie night. Her upcoming action comedy, BAD DAY, arrives on the streaming platform December 11, 2026, with a simple promise spiraling into an outrageous adventure.

Diaz stars as Joy, a single mother determined to make it to her daughter’s soccer game. But keeping her word becomes increasingly difficult as a towed car, a disastrous family appointment, and an accidental bank robbery send her day completely off the rails. Beneath the mayhem is a relatable challenge: trying to show up for someone you love when everything seems to go wrong.

Directed by Jury Duty filmmaker Jake Szymanski and written by Laura Solon, the film features an ensemble including Danielle Brooks, Ed O’Neill, Ben Schwartz, Mark Duplass, Retta, and Rob Corddry. That lineup gives Diaz plenty of comic company as Joy’s troubles pile up.

For anyone whose carefully planned morning has unraveled before lunchtime, the setup should feel familiar—even if the bank robbery takes things several steps further.

Mark your calendar for December 11. Joy’s BAD DAY could be your next night-in watch.
